Motivational Monday: How to Positively Deal with Body Changes!

Happy Monday! I hope and pray your week is off to a great start! I wanted to give you some encouraging words. I’ve worked as a custom dressmaker for over 15 years and have inadvertently served as an image consultant during those years. I’m VERY familiar with the complaints we as women have about our bodies! VERY FAMILIAR! I could fill several books with them. Alot of those complaints are due to changes we’ve experienced in our bodies. Let’s be real and honest if you’re of age (at least 30 years or older) you can admit to having experienced some body changes. Some of you have lost weight and others gained weight. Some have lost muscles and others have gained it. Some of us have noticed our bust once sat higher but now sits a little lower. Some have suffered injuries which have caused change and others have had kids. Your body changes may be linked to heredity or a medical issue.  Others have experience changes due to working out. Not matter the reason changes happen!

As you can see most of us are on a body journey. And just like the changes we experience in our lives we experience in our bodies too. No matter where you are in your journey I want to encourage you to always be positive about YOU!!! Having a body is a blessing—no matter what state it’s in because life is a blessing. And whether you’re on a journey to get more healthy and change your body for the better still appreciate where you are in your journey.

Clothes are a great way to show our appreciation for our bodies. The RIGHT clothes will make any body type beautiful. It seems we live in a society that preaches the opposite.  It teaches that unless we have a certain body type we’re not considered beautiful or perfect. Boy, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Variety is the spice of life and variety is beauty. The sooner we accept that the sooner we all will be more happier and content in our own unique beauty.

So if you’ve found yourself in a situation where you’ve experience body changes then you’ve found yourself in good company! Millions of women have and will experience the same. YOU ARE NORMAL!  Instead of beating yourself up I encourage to embrace your new figure. Yup, as the old saying goes “learn to make peace with your thighs”. And because you have a new body you may need to take some time to learn how to dress your new body and we can help you with that if you need it. So from this moment on no body shaming! Let’s shift gears and become proactive in our learning. Dealing with any change takes maturity and a step in a positive direction. You can look GREAT at any size and with the right techniques dressing can always be HASSLE-FREE! In the next few blog posts we’ll talk more about dressing our bodies and provide you with some helpful solutions. Remember, there is NO SUCH THING AS A BAD BODY—only Bad clothes!!!
